Marble Falls
Marble Falls is a lakefront town in central Texas on Lake Marble Falls. It is only a 45 mile drive from Austin, Texas down Hwy 71 or 1431, so many residents of Marble Falls drive to work in Austin. Only 85 miles to the south is San Antonio which has shopping and tourist attractions.
Marble Falls was named for the granite falls that were in the Colorado River before the dam was built. After the dam was built that formed Lake Marble Falls, the falls were under water. Every few years the lake is lowered and the falls are visible again.
